Peer Review Board (PRB): Members and Advisors

Bethlehem:

Hello! My name is Bethlehem Fekadu Messele! I am a 4th-year Neuroscience major and Politics minor; being part of PRB for my last year at UCSC is an absolute honor! I am so passionate about science policy, health policy, and medicine: specifically when it comes to working to unravel injustice and for international applications. Over my time at UCSC, my greatest joy was starting the East African Student Association (EASA). I believe in the strength of community! Outside of school, I enjoy film + music, painting, and nature walks!

Christine:

Hi! I’m Chrissy (she/her), and I’m a 3rd-year Psychology major and Education minor. This is my first year as a PRB member, but I’ve worked as an RA for over a year. I love working with people and doing my part to support and bring joy to my community. Outside of school, I love spending time in the outdoors, whether it’s backpacking, hiking, rock climbing, or volunteering at the Rec. I also love music, art, and trying new hobbies - right now I’m learning to bake!

Madison:

Hello! My name is Madison (she/her/hers), and I am a 4th year Environmental Science and Feminist Studies double major. I just recently added Feminist Studies because I enjoyed the GEs that were offered in the course and it has been so eye opening. I have worked on campus the past 3 years, but this will be my first year as a PRB Member and I am so excited. I am a catcher and 2nd baseman on the schools’ club softball team, and have worked with EOP the past 2 years. A fun fact is that I try to watch everything I can at 2x speed.

Fun Fact: I have a five-year old tortoise and his name is Bamboo, a three-year old tortoise, Bambii, and twenty fish.

Benjamin — CUIP:

Hello! My name is Benjamin (he/him/his) and I am a fourth-year Business Management Economics student. I was drawn to the Peer Review Board as I am passionate about community well-being and restorative justice practices. Outside of my role with PRB, I work as a Peer Coach for the Career Success office, as well as a Resident Assistant (RA) for Porter College. Additionally, I have a love for the outdoors, so when I am not working on one of these roles, you can find me hiking, at the beach, or at a music festival. I look forward to helping this campus community become even stronger throughout the duration of this year.

Esha — CUIP:

I love engaging in conversations with individuals and groups centered on expanding one's cultural competence through experiential learning and shared experiences. In my role, I meet with students to facilitate student conduct cases, address emergency policies, procedures, & training, and host preventative education programs & trainings. If you have any questions regarding the conduct process, campus resources, or just want to chat, please let me know! I'm always happy to host a Zoom meeting conversation.

Fun Fact: I went skydiving on Hawaii’s North Shore for my friend’s 25th birthday. I even got to steer the parachute. It was absolutely amazing!
